I hate to think this, but are Innistrad Dual Lands so expensive simply because they’re the best rares in the set? Sure, they are the first enemy dual lands printed since the original shock lands, but seriously, you’re looking at $25 a playset right now. I think they’re going to go down, but it’s making it hard for a lot of players to stay competitive in what’s become a very, very awkward format (that is, if you’re not playing Red Deck Wins).
I hate this Standard format. Please, Dark Ascension (the next set), save us!

I do believe that the price will cone down. So worry not my friend, patience is key.
Yeah, I know that prices are always high when sets are released. But I think a lot of the key card prices will remain pretty high until the next set is released, honestly.
It reminds me a lot of the Ravnica era. When you have a dual land for all ten color combinations, they tend to become the most-sought cards, because having all of them lets you play any deck that can possibly be built. Of course, this means that something that can be a benefit for the format becomes an obstacle for players. Casual players and budget-minded tournament players (ie. ones who have jobs, I don’t know what the heck the pros do to support themselves) suffer the most.
Especially someone like myself who is very budget-minded. Then even if you win tournaments, the packs you get will usually have a bunch of jank rares in them. It’s barely worth even winning right now. I think when the next set is released, things will improve somewhat. But the prices for the good cards in the set right now are so prohibitive that everyone is just playing Red Deck Wins. (And that gets really, really old fast!)
i think dual lands should be uncommon, it really makes no sense for them to be rare. I hate opening them in draft when i can see someone to my left opens a Garruk, and to my right a bloodline keeper. Dual lands at uncommon would make limited play smoother, and would make constructed easier to get into.
No one gets excited to buy a dual land, tourney players do it as anecessary evil.
That being said, these dual lands are actually quite cheap, being all under $5 and falling, as opposed to $30 snapcaster mages and $40 Liliana’s.
That’s an interesting idea, making them uncommon. At the time of this writing, though, some of the dual lands were still selling at $7 or $8 a piece. It is good that the prices are falling now, but that’s simply because supply has increased so much. But I agree, making them uncommon would make them easier to get, but I’m not sure that in draft you’d want to be opening a ton of dual lands in the uncommon slot (although from when I’ve drafted this set, the uncommons overall aren’t often that appealing anyway.
