Like Goblins needed another way to swarm the board! While Krenko may not prove to be incredibly relevant in standard after the cycling of the Scars of Mirrodin block in October 2012, Krenko, Mob Boss is most certainly a major factor in the Legacy Goblin deck! He’s a 3/3 for 2RR, which isn’t bad, but he’s never really going to attack much in a deck full of much cheaper creatures. It’s his tap ability that makes him so ridiculous that your opponent’s will be gunning for him immediately!
Krenko’s ability to spawn a great many Goblin tokens turn after turn (especially if he has Goblin Chieftain to give him haste!) is especially powerful when you have both tokens with haste and +1/+1. Add in the fact that these tokens give you fodder for the Goblin Grenades and Artillerizes of the world, you’ll often end up with far too many weapons for your opponent to stop. He’s one of the more powerful legendary creatures out there, period; even if he is only useful in Tribal Goblins, he’s on a higher power level than most Goblins ever printed!
